Allan Radaic

BA in Biotechnology by Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar), and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Functional and Molecular Biology by University of Campinas (UNICAMP). During his BA, he was a FAPESP Scientific Initiation Fellow at the Biomembranes Laboratory (UNICAMP), where he studied Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN) for gene delivery. As an M.Sc. student, he developed, together with Prof. Marcelo Bispo de Jesus and Profa. Eneida de Paula, an SLN formulation capable of delivering genes and drugs and its synthesis method. He was a member of the Nanoparticle and Cell Interactions Laboratory (NanoCell) during his Ph.D. program, where he developed the thesis entitled “Solid Lipid Nanoparticles for carrying genes: Endocytosis, intracellular traffic, and toxicity in cell culture.” In 2018, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Neuroproteomics Laboratory, mentored by Professor Daniel Martins de Souza. Since 2019, he is a postdoctoral fellow at Kapila Laboratory, at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) under the mentorship of Prof. Yvonne L. Kapila. As a postdoctoral fellow at Kapila Laboratory, he was the recipient of the 2019 IADR / Philips Oral Healthcare Young Investigator Research Grant and Award and 2020 IADR Academy of Osseointegration Innovation in Implant Sciences Award. He has experience in the area of ​​Biochemistry and Cell Biology with an emphasis on nanotechnology, immortalized cell culture, nanoparticle-cell interactions, oral microbiology, working mainly on the following themes: endocytosis and intracellular traffic, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry and in vitro oral biofilm.

Gustavo Oliveira Pugliese

Gustavo is Ph. D. student at the University of Sao Paulo, where he studies STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics) education and Public Policies in Education. He holds two academic degrees: Portuguese Language Teaching and Biology, obtained at the University of Campinas. He holds a master’s degree in Science Education obtained at the Biology Institute of Unicamp, with an internship at the University of Washington (US). He was the head of a nonprofit organization for underrepresented minorities from public schools and he is the founder of a mentorship program to low-income students. Gustavo coordinates Digital Fluency projects in schools and facilitates workshops for teachers from all over Brazil. He is a fellow of the YLAI (Young Leaders of Americas Initiative), a distinct program of the US Department of State for young entrepreneurs; and was selected for the INEI (International Network of Educational Institutes) summer school, based in Beijing Normal University. He is the author of scientific papers, scientific dissemination articles, interviews for the general media, conferences, and curriculums. Main areas of activity: teacher professional development, project management, educational program coordination, and STEM Education.

Bruna Soldera

Graduated in Technological Chemistry at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where she carried out undergraduate research in the area of interaction polymeric nanoparticles and cells in the Nanoparticle and Cell Interactions laboratory (NanoCell). Worked in the area of product research and development at the company Medley Farmacêuticas Ltda. Has experience in Biochemistry focusing on Nanoparticle-Cell Interactions, with emphasis on Drug Delivery, also has experience in High-performance liquid chromatography, Gas chromatography, fluorescence microscopy, and UV spectrum.

Samara Reis

Has a degree in Pharmacy from the University of São Francisco, where she performed scientific research undergraduate level in pharmacology (UNIFAG). Has a Master’s degree in Laboratory of NanoCell Interactions at the University of Campinas. Has experience in Biochemistry, focusing on Nanoparticle-Cell Interactions, having developed research in Cell Biology, with emphasis for Drug Delivery, cell viability and fluorescence microscopy.

Luiz Alberto Bandeira Ferreira

Graduated in Pharmacy from the São Francisco University and Ph.D. in Sciences from the State University of Campinas, with an emphasis on inputs and pharmaceutical products. Develops his work in the field of nanomedicine and nanotoxicology, acting mainly on the following: synthesis and biosynthesis of nanomaterials, lipid nanoparticles, liposomes, metallic nanoparticles, biogenic silver nanoparticles, nanomaterials characterization, drug encapsulation, studies of molecular mechanisms of toxicity in vitro and in vivo, oxidative stress, transfection and antitumor activity of nanomaterials. Currently, he is an analytical development analyst at Sanofi Aventis, acting in the development and validation of analytical methods, studies on the stability of drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients, dissolution profile and in vivo/in vitro correlation.

Carolina Aparecida de Guzzi Cassago

Graduated in Biomedicine at Barão de Mauá University Center. M.Sc of Science at the University of São Paulo (USP) and earned my Ph.D. in Science from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Researcher in Biotechnology at the Cristália Laboratory. Post-doctorate at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) at the Nanoparticle and Cell Interactions laboratory (NanoCell) and Post-doctorate at the Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory (LNBio – CNPEM). Currently works as Administrative Analyst of Projects at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM).

Monique Culturato Padilha Mendonça

Pharmacist with MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacology from the University of Campinas. Postdoctoral researcher at NanoCell Interaction lab from 2016 to 2019, responsible for the in vivo nanotoxicological tests using rodents and invertebrate animal models. Currently, she is working at the University College Cork, Ireland in the development of a new gene delivery system using nanomaterials that are capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and knockdown specific genes. 

Rafaella Mascarelli Pereira

Tuanny Leite Almeida

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from the University of Sao Paulo in 2015 and a master’s degree in Functional and Molecular Biology from Unicamp in 2020. She has experience in the cosmetics industry, in the advanced research area dedicated to the innovation Board assigned by Natura. She also worked on the Cellular Assays platform at SGC-UNICAMP, an international consortium that accelerates new drug discovery. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. at Institute of Biology (Unicamp) in the Molecular and Morphofunctional Biology program with a focus on biochemistry. Conducts a research project to determine the phenotypic profiles of human cells exposed to nanoplastics and pollutants through image analysis and machine learning.

Fernanda Garcia Fossa

She holds a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where she carried out undergraduate research in the area of interaction nanoparticles and cells. She is currently a Masters student in the Nanoparticle and Cell Interactions laboratory (NanoCell) at the University of Campinas. Has experience in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with emphasis on Nanoparticle-Cell Interactions, acting on the following subjects: signaling pathways, TGF-β, confocal microscopy and image analysis.
